Display and Cabinet Lighting Examples preserves the old Hera application gallery as a working reference page. The original intent was not to sell one single family, but to show how compact cabinet and display lights were actually used in headboards, retail displays, kitchens, closets, offices, and other accent-lighting situations.
Some of the pictured families are still active, some are now closeout, and some installations predate the current replacement paths. Where the legacy gallery pointed to a specific product page, the image below now links to the closest live page in the new catalog.
If you are trying to match an older installation, use this page for visual identification first, then compare voltage, mounting style, cutout size, beam spread, and driver type before ordering.
Headboards and Hospitality
These examples show how Hera lights were used as reading lights, headboard wash lights, and low-profile linear lighting in guest-room and hospitality settings.
Hera Edenroc-LED light shown on a hotel headboard. A 1 watt personal reading light to keep from disturbing your partner. The Edenroc light is shown extending downward from both upper corners of the headboard. It has an integrated on/off switch in its base. The arm is flexible so you can point the light where you want it. Open the current page.Close up view of the flexible Hera Edenroc reading light. The on/off switch is positioned in the base of the light. This one is shown with the base mounted behind the headboard. But you can mount it on the front of the headboard which would give you more reach with the light as well. Base can also be mounted to a horizontal flat surface. Open the current page. The Hera ELite-LED mounted in a headboard application. This is starting to become popular in hotels, and could potentially be used in home applications as well. Note that the ELite-LED is very bright. This would not be a night time reading light, it is going to light up the entire top of the bed and a fair part of the room. Open the current page.
Retail Displays and Showcase Lighting
Hera also lived in jewelry cases, shelving, store displays, and bookcases where directed light and compact profiles mattered more than raw fixture size.
Hera ELite-LED shown on store display shelves. The ELite-LED is economical, has a very long life, and can connect end to end or be spaced apart for very long runs of linear lighting. It is compact and can hide well under shelves or kitchen cabinets. Open the current page. This is Hera's HO-LED light installed in the Singapore Ferris Wheel. It is a 3.6 watt high power LED light. Comes in a fixed down light, or a tiltable version to pinpoint light where you need it. The one shown in this photo is the tiltable version, yet it is positioned even within its mount. Open the current page.Hera's HO-LED used to display jewelry. The HO-LED light has a tilt feature, so you can pinpoint the light better on your display items, artwork, or even kitchen back splashes. Generally used as a down light, but could be used as an uplight above cabinets as well. Open the current page. The Stem-LED light shown centered in the picture toward the front of the jewelry case pointing backward was an excellent light for expensive displays. Its head is tiltable allowing you to throw light downward or downward and backward. It is a 5 watt LED, thus it will throw an amount of light almost equal to a 60 watt old style light bulb. Hera has discontinued this light, sad to say. At this writing, stock does remain on them and we are showing them on our Close Out Lighting Page. Open the current page. You can barely see the lights themselves, but they are there. This is the Stick2-LED light, an extremely low profile linear light. If you look closely at the top shelf, you can see how one 12" light, or a couple of 8" lights connected end to end are lighting up the center of the second shelf. The creator of this display could have run the lights completely across the full width. The lights connect end to end with no visible gaps. But it looks like they wanted to accent a center line and leave the far left and right a little shaded. It is a nice store display. Kitchens, Cabinets, and Shelving
This was the main legacy use case: task lighting on counters, highlight lighting in glass-door cabinets, and display lighting on open shelves and backsplash areas.
The FR68-LED light is a great spotlight when you want a lot of lighting, but without overdoing it. They are 4 watts each which will be brighter than the old style 20 watt halogen lights. They are also dimmable for the times when you do not need them so bright. Open the current page. The definition of an under cabinet light does not mean that it can be used only under a cabinet. The items on these nice block designer shelves are highlighted well with some fixed spotlights. It adds nice light to this corner of the kitchen. Too bad the photo was taking during the daytime with that window right there. I would really like to see this in the evening hours when the window is dark. Bet it makes that wall look incredible too. Open the current page. This kitchen has fixed down spotlights under the cabinet, inside the top of the cabinet, and looks like two each on the far ends of the custom hood over the cooktop. It places a lot of light in this small work area. It also brightens the backsplash quite a bit. The under cabinet lights, when mounted closer to the wall, create those cones of light on the backsplash. It is a personal preference as to how you want to set them up.That same kitchen with the vertical lifting diffused glass door shown open. Looks like they have two spotlights inside the cabinet to light up the full width better. The glass shelves allow the light to shine all the way to the bottom of the cabinet, lighting up all the wine glasses too. If the overhead light was all there was, your shadow would make the counter even darker. Adding linear under cabinet lights to this area provides a lot of nice working light. Since the backsplash has an even glow, we know there are linear lights in there. Such as the Stick2 or Stick3 LED lights. Open the current page. This is a warm looking kitchen. A soft glow along the counters and on the inside of the upper cabinets. Some of the uppers have glass mullion doors and some are open. This is a working kitchen with a little flair to display some objects. Nice glazing on the cabinet doors too. Check out the Woodmont Doors section of our website if you are looking for new cabinet doors too. This is Hera's R55-LED light. A 3 watt LED equivalent to the older 20 watt halogen lights. This is the under cabinet light taking over for halogen. In this picture, three of the 3-watt lights vs. three of the 20-watt halogen is 51 watts less you will be using each hour for the same amount of light. And there will be less heat. And you can have warm white or cool white. And they are rated for 50,000 hours. Convinced yet? Open the current page.We are not certain which Hera lights are in this photo. The four glass doors have one spotlight centered per door. But under the cabinet it is a bit hard to tell if they packed 6 spotlights that close together, or mixed in some linear light with spotlights. Which is an awesome thing to do. Best guess is that those are Stick2-LED lights under the cabinet to provide an even light across the backsplash and counter. Since spotlights and linear lights can operate from the same LED low voltage drivers, you can mix them together to light up your furniture, entertainment centers, and kitchens. Closets, Offices, Walkways, and Accent Spaces
The old gallery also showed how these same light families crossed over into closets, offices, stairways, medical spaces, and mood-lighting applications.
This is an older picture from Hera. The under cabinet spotlights used in this photo were not labeled, and we have a feeling they could be some of the discontinued halogen lights. But it is a nice photo and it shows how under cabinet "puck" lights are not just for the kitchen. They can be used in bathrooms, make up areas, and in closets. Anywhere where you would like to add some specialized light, or just accent lighting. Open the current page.Individual spotlights used in custom cubicals for home display purposes. Could be used the same way in office building looking to display some attractive items. The soft glow look like warm white LED lights. Hera has an assortment of lights that can achieve this effect. I have never been in a dentist office this fancy. Must be Beverly Hills. And what's with the guest chair? But nonetheless, additional under cabinet lights mounted in a cornice above his cabinets add a nice glow to the cabinets. This is what I think of for a normal small office set up. Focused light on your work area. With only overhead lighting, the desk would not be as bright. And some people or businesses want it to look nice instead of just having a desk lamp. I would add some more light along that side wall too, looks a little darker over there. Open the current page.Just a few spotlights added below a book shelf make a big difference in that corner. Thus something much brighter and something you can focus on display objects. These actually appear to be ceiling mounted and 3 of them are lighting up that wall pretty good. This is not considered an under cabinet light. It would probably be too bright. It also requires a deeper depth for installation. Yet, it is a fantastic display light. Open the current page. The StickVE-LED light is an economical version of the Stick2-LED. Priced lower, about the same light output, just the rating for life output of the LED's is a little less. It comes with peel and stick tape on its backside for quick easy installation. Can be used under cabinets too, though that is not very common. Also comes in 3 levels of intensity and it is dimmable. Various Kelvin outputs also for warm glows or more white color light. Open the current page. The TwinStick2-LED is pretty much two lines of Stick2-LED attached at the hip. Twice the light output for areas where you need brighter linear lighting. It is a very popular light hidden on the underside of drug store shelves to light up their products. It also connects end to end with an overlap to make a bunch of 8" and 12" lights look like one six foot long light as in this picture.
